BIO

Miss. Nishtee GOPEE
Programme Leader Of IT & Emerging Technologies

Miss Nishtee Gopee is a holder of a BSC in Computer science from Bangalore university, an MSC in Information Systems from university of Wales and an MBA from Open University of Mauritius and with over 15 years of experience in IT and Educational sector.

Miss Gopee is a passionate of the IT field and her career started as an educator in Computer science and computing. Her passion for programming has made her move to a professional environment as Software Engineer at Ceridian Mauritius. She has also worked at the National Computer Board as the officer-in-charge for the ICT Academy and was also involved in the promotion department for strategic planning and implementation of ICT culture in Mauritius. Miss Gopee is currently working as the Programme Leader at Polytechnics Mauritius Ltd.

Nishtee is a passionate academic researcher who is constantly writing research papers and her focus areas are more towards Educational Technologies and Emerging Technologies such as AI, Big Data Analytics and Blockchain.

Big Data has been the buzzword in this revolutionary phase of Digital Transformation. Big Data is almost everywhere and there is almost the need to collect and preserve whatever data is being generated, for the fear of security or missing out on something important. Data is useless without the skills to analyse it. A recent report by PwC predicts that by 2020, there will be around 2.7 million job postings in Data Science and Analytics in the US alone.

These statistics only reinstate the fact that the jobs in Big Data are increasing, and as Big Data increases, so will the opportunities for job in the market. Today almost every industry revolves around data analytics and the need for Big Data specialists is increasing.

Mr. Zoubeir AUNGNOO

Lecturer in IT

Zoubeir holds a MSc in Computer Science at Postgraduate level and a degree in BSc Computer Science with Network Security at Undergraduate level.

With over 10 years of teaching experience at Tertiary Level, he has been teaching at numerous institutions in Mauritius and a range of modules in the field of IT & Emerging Technologies.

Zoubeir believes that to succeed in this evolving field of IT, grit is the most determining factor.

Mrs. Wed Singh JAHADJEE – KOREEMUN

Lecturer in Mathematics & Statistics

I have a robust background in mathematics and statistics, culminating in my current role as a lecturer in the cluster of IT. I have done a degree course in BSc (Hons) Mathematics at the University of Technology, Mauritius and also a master course in Applied Statistics with Operational Research. I have been teaching modules related to mathematics and statistics since the year 2014.

Throughout my career, I have been deeply engaged in both teaching and research, fostering a passion for imparting knowledge and solving complex problems. As a lecturer, I have had the privilege of guiding students through the intricacies of mathematics and statistics, equipping them with the skills essential for success in the IT industry. Additionally, my experience extends to curriculum development and academic advising. My professional trajectory reflects a commitment to excellence in education and a dedication to advancing mathematical understanding within the context of modern technology.

Ms. Lakshi MEGHOO

Lecturer in Information and Technology

Ms. Lakshi Meghoo is a holder of MSc Software Engineering Projects and Management and BSc Computer Science and Engineering both at the University of Mauritius. Ms. Lakshi has around 14 years of experience in the IT sector as Software Developer and Project Manager. She is passionate about innovative projects, entrepreneurship and research study. She joined PML as Lecturer in IT since 2023. Her current endeavor is about how to motivate students to learn IT & programming by using different styles of teaching and learning methodologies.

Mrs Jennita NUNKOO

Mrs Jennita Nunkoo has been working as graphic designer for the past years at institutions such as; the Mauritius Examination Syndicate and Mauritius Commercial Bank Ltd. As an Artist, she has also been delivering art courses to students from different ages and backgrounds. Her research in the Colouration field has been published on Wiley Online Library.
Her passion for the creative industry, research and education brought her to Polytechnics Mauritius Ltd. Mrs Jennita Nunkoo is a holder of a BSc (Hons) in Design and Colour Applications for Industry (First Class) from the University of Mauritius. She is currently looking into User Interface (UI), User Experience (UX) Design and immersive design.

Mr. Salim SOOBADAR

I am a Chartered Engineer (Engineering Council of UK) with more than 30 years of experience in various sectors of activities, namely, Sugar Industry, Textile Industry, Off shore, Building and Construction Industry in Project Management, IT, Electrical and Automation field.

I am graduated from University of Rouen, France and possess :
a ‘DEUG’- Science de la structure et de la matière,
a ‘Licence’ – Electronique, Electrotechnique et Automatique,
a ‘Maitrise’ - Electronique, Electrotechnique et Automatique and
a ‘DESS’ – Automatique et Informatique Industrielle

I also hold an MBA from University of Poitiers, France.

I am a MQA registered trainer (up to degree level) in
Information Systems and
Electrical & Electronics Engineering

I have lectured at University of Mauritius, Regional Training Centre and MCCI among others
I was also registered with IVTB as Director of studies / Programme Office for Microcoms Training Centre Ltd .

Mr. Divesh ROOPOWA

Divesh holds a First-Class BSc (Hons) in Information Technology, where he embarked on a fulfilling career in the tertiary education sector. Over eight years of experience as an educator, specializing in the field of IT. Divesh commitment to excellence has led him to achieve a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education, further enhancing his teaching methods and student engagement strategies.

Divesh is also honored as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA-UK), a testament to his unwavering dedication in enhancing learning outcomes and cultivating a positive educational environment. During his professional journey, Divesh have remained focused on empowering students with knowledge while nurturing critical thinking and fostering academic growth. His dedication to student development extends beyond the classroom, as he actively guides students to achieve their full potential, equipping them with the necessary knowledge for success in their academic journey and future careers.

Mr Arun GOORSAHA

With over 14 years of professional tenure as a Graphic Designer, I have cultivated a diverse skill set and gained extensive experience across multiple sectors including Advertising, Communication, Marketing, Digital Marketing, and Fashion. In addition to my design career, I have spent 4 years teaching at the Tertiary Level, imparting my knowledge and expertise to aspiring designers.
Complementing my practical experience, I hold an MBA with a specialization in Marketing, obtained in 2016, which has equipped me with strategic insights into market trends and consumer behavior. Furthermore, my recent Postgraduate Certification in Higher Education (PGcertHE) in 2023 has enhanced my pedagogical approach and strengthened my commitment to fostering a conducive learning environment.

Overall, my blend of extensive design experience, teaching prowess, and academic qualifications position me as a versatile professional capable of delivering impactful solutions and nurturing talent in the ever-evolving landscape of design and education.

Palavee CAVAREE

Associate Lecturer in Interactive and Digital Media and Digital Marketing

With a BA Hons in Graphic Design from the University of Technology, Mauritius, she embarked on a dynamic career in the fashion industry. Over the past decade, she has sharpened her skills in both the development of fast fashion textile and the marketing departments, showcasing a unique ability to blend creativity with strategic market analysis.

Her journey began in 2013, immediately after graduation, when she seized the opportunity to apply her academic knowledge to real- world challenges. By maintaining a balance between her creative instincts and the practical demands of the market, she ensures that her designs are both aesthetically pleasing and commercially viable.

Her dedication to the industry is evident in her continuous pursuit of excellence, making her a valuable asset to any team seeking to elevate their brand through thoughtful design and effective marketing strategies.

Mr. Deeraj kumar BURNAH

Associate Lecturer in Information Technology

My journey at Polytechnics Mauritius began as Lab Technologist IT and currently postulated as Associate Lecturer in the field of IT.

I started my career as Technical Consultant working on Oracle Platform E-Business Suite at Softpro Ltd in 2013 and have worked for various companies such as Ceridian, Fintech & Gmex Group as Technical Operation Analyst. I am a holder of a BSc (Hons) Computer Science at University of Mauritius, MSc Enterprise Security & Digital Forensics at the University of Technology and Oracle Certified. Throughout my career, I have collaborated with diverse teams, working on different projects and continuously sought to push the boundaries of AI, Forensics and Blockchain technologies.
In IT we nurture a future where knowledge is the strongest encryption, curiosity drives innovation, and every learner becomes a guardian of digital trust.
