Students who may initially fall short of these standards will have the opportunity to enhance their swimming skills through the program.
One noteworthy partnership is with the National Sea Rescue Institute of South Africa, chosen for its focus on safety and responsible practices in aquatic activities. This collaboration enhances the credibility of the program and ensures that participants receive international standard training in water rescue and safety. To enrich the course further, an introduction to Paddling Sport offers a chance to explore new horizons and promote a love for adventure and water fitness.
The incorporation of the Higher Certificate in Management complements the practical skills acquired in lifeguarding and water sports with essential management knowledge. This combination not only equips participants with expertise in water safety and recreation but also instils valuable managerial and organizational skills. Recognizing the pivotal role of soft skills in the PolyCORE programme, enhancing participants’ interpersonal and communication abilities.

After completion of the Higher Certificate Level 5, students would be able to enroll for the Advance Certificate in Sports, Recreation and Fitness Management as well as the phase 2 and 3 of the Sea Lifeguard course.
