It is a challenging task setting up a new school of Nursing and Health studies striving for excellence. The vision here, is to create industry-based and skilled nurses to meet the needs of the country. Furthermore, there is a need to expand through introduction of new courses on Health-Science to create a centre of excellence in Nursing education and to enhance the image of the Profession in Mauritius and beyond. The students, with help and support, are coping quite well in both theory and practice. Polytechnics Mauritius is receiving good feedback on the performance of our students in Clinical practice in the five Regional hospitals, Community and Specialised placements.
