Mr. Georges SOODEEN
Programme Leader Tourism & Hospitality

George is the Program Leader for the Tourism and Hospitality cluster of Polytechnics Mauritius Ltd. His has 15 years of working experience within tourism industry both public and private. Manage two prestigious water sports organisations in East Africa with a combine number of hotels guests of over 3000 people. He worked on several projects; from empowering east Africans to teach, then manage and later on open their own water sport centers. He worked on the development of the first cruising ships from Mombasa to Zanzibar and later on to the Seychelles, Maldives and Mauritius. He developed the first concept in East Africa of scuba, eat and relax, culminating in the opening of a hotel on an island.
George holds a Diploma in Social Science, several diploma in sports, a BA in International Tourism Management and an MSC in Sport Business Management.

Shanil believe in creating a positive educational environment for students and always ensure to stay at the forefront of industry changes. He is a holder of an Executive Masters of Business Administration, a Master of Science in Tourism Management and Specialisation in Marketing, a BSc (Hons) in Tourism and Hospitality Management and has have acquired over 14 years of teaching experience in Tourism, Hospitality, Marketing and Management to both local and international students. Thus, life is a challenging experience and it is required to apply the importance of fairness, ethics and integrity in our daily life.

I have built my career in a variety of roles, mostly in the tourism & hospitality sector, with almost 5 years experiences in the Hotel Industry. I am not only used to wearing many hats, I sincerely enjoyed it; I thrive in an environment where no two work days are exactly the same. I have over 10 years experiences in the hospitality industry and education sector. I believe that sharing knowledge is the best thing one can do and my aim is to guide my students in becoming self-sufficient individuals with aspirations for a better future. I possess a Bachelor Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management and a Master Degree in Tourism Management and Marketing and currently completing my PGCert in Higher Education.

Deemeeta is a Holder of a BSc Food Science & Technology from University of Mauritius and a MSc in Food Safety & Quality Management from Natural Resources Institute of University of Greenwich, with 10 years of working experience in the Tourism & Hospitality industry. Deemeta has participated in several projects for the group Sun Resorts & Ciel namely ISO 22000 certification (HACCP), ISO 9001 (QMS), ISO 14000 (EMS), Travelife Certification, Earthcheck Certification, Risk Management Analysis implementation, Sun Excellence Award organised by group Ciel and Sun Got Talent competition by SUN Resorts where her team came 1st for the Sustainability Innovation project. She had also worked for the groups LUX Resorts and Constance.

Associate Lecturer Tourism & Hospitality

Lovanee has more than four years of teaching experience and strongly believes in the TVET philosophy. She enjoys her interaction with the students and believe on an equal sharing where learning is acquired from both sides.
Lovanee is a holder of a Bachelor Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management and has a Master of Science in Sustainability for Business, Society and Environment.

Passion and Creativity are his everyday drives. Chef Tapsee is a member of the ‘Academie Nationale De Cuisine de France’ and ‘The United Chef Network’ and also now a proud member of the prestigious ‘Academie des Chefs’. With 15 years of experience through which he chose to acquire equally a practical and academic formation in order to ensure continuity in the learning process. It is now a privilege to share his experience and knowledge with the younger generation of culinary and hospitality soldiers.

Joshil has 15 years of experience as Manager in the Tourism sector and 10 years in the Food & Beverage Department.
He is a holder of a BSc in Tourism and Hotel Management and has a Master in Hotel Management.
